A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, Nov. 28 at United Church of Christ in Vermillion to celebrate the life of Jack Noble, 91,

who died Tuesday, Oct. 14 at Sanford Vermillion.

     Jack, who was born on Nov. 4, 1922 in Longmont, Colo., was Professor Emeritus at the University of South Dakota. He was a professor of music at USD for more than four decades and also served as Minister of Music at the Vermillion United Church of Christ for 60 years. Jack is survived by his wife Phyllis of Vermillion and two sons: David of Mead, Colo. and Paul of Tulsa, Okla. and two daughters: Jane Paxson of Beaverton, Ore. and  Ruth Lemire of Minneapolis, Minn.; and four grandchildren. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Rotary Club, the American Guild of Organists, the Shrine of Music and th

e United Church of Christ.

     Jack graduated from Longmont High School and received his bachelor’s degree in music and his master’s degree in music from the University of Colorado and a master’s of sacred music from Union Theological Seminary in New York.     To see the obituary, click here
